Worth seeing

Campo di Trens:

• Castel Tasso: mentioned for the first time in the 12th century; one of the best conserved castles in the country with a high historical value.
• Campo di Trens - pilgrimage Maria Trens: a gothic construction, built in 1498 and after the pilgrimage of Pietralba the most famous and important in the country.

Racines and the valley of Ridanna:

• L'orrido di Gilf: a very impressive walk through an unique natural phenomenon. The "gorge of the emperor Franz-Josef" is the only one in the world which is situated into white marble. The brook of Racines finds its way to the valley through the craggy rocks and creates many waterfalls. An unforgettable experience for everyone.
• The baroque castle of Wolfsthurn: the splendid building in Mareta is the only castle in baroque style in South Tyrol. Nowadays it houses the museum of hunting and fishing. In the summertime you have the opportunity to enjoy classic concerts in this fantastic ruins.
• The mining museum in Ridanna: there is no other mine in Europe that is situated at this altitude, and in no other mine people worked for so long: 800 years the miners searched for silver, lead and zinc. Nowadays the mine is open to the public.

Vipiteno:

• Twelve Tower: the landmark of Vipiteno; the tower separates the old part of the town from the new one.
• The statue of S. Giovanni Nepomuceno: this monument shows Giovanni Nepomuceno, the patron who defends people against natural calamities.
• The town hall of Vipiteno: in the courtyard you can admire the Mitrhra Stone – a roman milestone.
• The Saint Spirit Church: their you can see the frescos of Hans von Bruneck which date back to the 1402.
• The town museum: this museum is situated in the building of the Teutonic order. Worth seeing is the altar of Hans Multscher, that dates back to the 1459.

Nature, sport, fun

The tourist area is a paradise for sportsmen: you can take a walk, ride the bike (over 100 km of well-maintained tracks), practices rafting or paraglide - whatever you want, you can do it.
